This is more than just a competition—it’s a movement. A platform to amplify women's voices, share their stories, and shape societal perspectives on gender equality through Kannada cinema. This is your chance to showcase your talent, win exciting cash prizes, and make an impact in the industry.
In addition to the above awards, there is a plan to provide a "Film Production Grant" for the best screenplay that is yet to be produced, with the aim of encouraging emerging women filmmakers. The selection will be announced at the short film festival scheduled to take place in June.
The selected script will receive mentoring from experienced professionals during production, along with a maximum grant of ₹1,00,000 (one lakh), which will be provided in installments at various stages of production. Eligible applicants for the "Film Production Grant" must submit a separate application along with an entry fee of ₹1,000 by April 30, 2025.
“Avala Hejje” (Kannada phrase that means “Her Steps”) is a social initiative with a dream to see women's foot prints everywhere from playgrounds to boardrooms. We have conducted many innovative programs over the past eight years, including a screening of short films made by women in 2018.
